Every now and then the cosmic tumblers click into place and you get into a grove. You know, you’re feelin’ it.
“Feelin’ it” can happen at any given moment, whether it’s saying all the right things in a social or business setting, hitting a golf ball properly, or even while holding the remote.
Tired from a long day, I recently stretched and began the oh-so-relaxing process of channel flipping. Two of my favorite movies popped up right away: Inglourious Basterds and Goodfellas.
That was good luck. What followed was “feelin’ it.”
Flipping back and forth between the two, I hit one good line after the next.
First, click to Inglourious Basterds.
Lt. Aldo Raine: “You probably heard we ain’t in the prisoner-takin’ business; we’re in the killin’ Nazi business. And cousin, business is a-boomin’.”
Next, to Goodfellas.
Jimmy Conway: “I’m not mad, I’m proud of you. You took your first pinch like a man and you learned two great things in your life. Look at me, never rat on your friends and always keep your mouth shut.”
Back to Inglourious Basterds.
Lt. Archie Hicox: “Well, if this is it, old boy, I hope you don’t mind I go out speaking the king’s?”
And, once again, Goodfellas.
Billy Batts: “Now go home and get your f@#kin’ shinebox.”
Like I said, feelin’ it!
