TOYS AND GAMES: A Surprise Pimp, Jeopardy!, and Cincinnati Kid
A Facebook post titled “15 Celebrity Facts That Will Blow Your Mind” revealed the following: James Lipton Was a Pimp.

Yes, that James Lipton, the host of the Bravo television series, Inside the Actors Studio.
According to the sometimes annoying scroll-through site that has all kinds of lists, “James managed to befriend a prostitute in Paris and became a pimp. According to him, he did a roaring business, and it was one of the greatest years of his life.”
Hmm. Don’t believe I would have confessed to that one, brother.
Jeopardy! has had its share of, shall we say, unusual champions. But if you’ve been watching lately, you’ve got to say that expressionless Matt Jackson, who has been steamrolling the field, is truly the Ivan Drago of the favorite game show. I thought his face was going to crack the other night when Alex Trebek asked him to smile.
Everything he answers, he destroys!
The Cincinnati Kid ranks as one of my all-time favorite movies. Steve McQueen headlines a cast that includes Edward G. Robinson, Karl Malden, Ann-Margaret, Tuesday Weld, Joan Blondell, and Rip Torn. After recently watching the movie on AMC, I bought the book for my Kindle and I enjoyed the story, even though I don’t normally read a book after I’ve seen the movie. Based on that book, and from others of the same era, I observed that screenplay adaptations seemed to be more in line with the books back in the day.
