TOYS AND GAMES: Bronco Billy, Warriors’ Chances, Chain Letters, Dress Like Luke?

One of my favorite movie exchanges comes from Bronco Billy (released in 1980), staring Clint Eastwood as Bronco Billy McCoy and Sondra Locke as Antoinette Lilly:

Antoinette: Have you ever been married?

Bronco Billy: Sure. A long time ago.

Antoinette: Did you love her?

Bronco Billy: With all my heart. Sometimes that just isn’t enough.

Antoinette: What happened?

Bronco Billy: I caught her in bed with my best friend.

Antoinette: What did you do to him?

Bronco Billy: I shot her.

Antoinette Lilly: What! What about him?

Bronco Billy: He was my best friend!

Based on the start by Stephen Curry’s Warriors and how they’re playing, you’ve got to wonder if they’re going to reach exalted hoops land this season. We’re talking Michael Jordan’s 1995-96 Chicago Bulls here.

Currently, the Warriors are 26-1. They went on a record-setting 24-0 run to start the season before they lost to the Bucks, making them 24-1 through 25 games. Jordan’s Bulls started the season 23-2 en route to an NBA record 72-10 mark. Should be fun to follow down the stretch.

One thing is for sure, the 76ers look like a lock to become the worst team in NBA history. Philly is 1-26 (that’s a .037 winning percentage). Charlotte owns the lowest winning percentage in NBA history after going 7-59 during the strike-shortened 2012 season. That’s a .106 winning percentage.

Not far behind are the 1973 76ers, who went 9-73 for a .110 winning percentage.

You don’t think the Philly faithful are a little cranky this season, do you?
