TOYS AND GAMES: Fan Allegiance, McCarthy’s Tweet, and Chip Kelly
Patti and I watched the Bucs-Saints game at the Hooters bar on Sunday surrounded by men and women clad in jerseys from just about every NFL team. Funny thing was, nobody seemed to be cheering for a team — at least an NFL team. Instead they were pulling for the individuals who compose their fantasy teams.
Not saying what I witnessed was right or wrong, just that it struck me as odd, like the guy in the Steelers jersey cheering for Johnny Manziel.
Loved this tweet from Dodgers pitcher Brandon McCarthy regarding his drive to the ballpark: @BMCarthy32 just hit a pigeon during my commute and it taught me how fleeting life is. Also not to eat french fries in the middle of the street.
Finally, am I the only one who thinks Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly resembles James Bond’s nemesis Auric Goldfinger? Judging from the Eagles’ start, Kelly sure could use Odd Job.
