TOYS AND GAMES: While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Earlier this year I discovered on YouTube a video of Heart performing “Stairway to Heaven” when The Kennedy Center honored Led Zeppelin. The fact I discovered this one long after the actual event occurred did nothing to detract from my enjoyment of the performance.
Now I’ve stumbled across another cool one that features Tom Petty, Prince, Steve Winwood, Dhani Harrison and Jeff Lynne where they play “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” in a tribute to George Harrison.
The Beatles’ White Album is my favorite and the two songs I like best on that album are “Back in the USSR” and “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.”

I’ve always been a big Prince fan, but I don’t know if he’s still going by “The Artist Formerly Known as Prince” or if he’s gone back to “Prince.” Either way, engaging him in conversation presents difficulties. Like, “How are you ‘Artist Formerly Known as Prince?’” or “How’s it going ‘Prince?’” Just plain awkward.
